Sales Engineer – Midwest/Northeast US

We have an immediate need for a tech-savvy Sales Engineer to join our team.

As a Sales Engineer you will be a subject-matter expert with extensive knowledge of Agnetix product offerings and market segments. You will work closely with the Sales team to ensure our customers realize their horticulture lighting project goals, as well as our company goals. You will participate regularly in company meetings and occasionally attend industry trade shows and events when needed. You will continually build your knowledge base and be a subject matter expert not only in our platform but in ancillary systems by participating in educational opportunities online and elsewhere.

You will be an ambassador of the company and maintain a high level of personal and professional integrity. You are a bold, resourceful self-starter with a knack for adding value in unexpected places.   • Provides technical pre-sales support to one or more assigned account managers
  • Serves as the primary technical contact between the Agnetix engineering team and customer
  • Works with potential customers (pre-sale) to determine the required equipment and installation to best serve their requirements
  • Works with new customers (post-sale) to finalize the design of their installation and order needed components
  • Provides technical expertise to existing customers, assisting with questions and troubleshooting related to Agnetix equipment and supporting systems (including computer network, electrical, and cooling systems)
  • Provides voice-of-customer feedback to engineering team for potential new product features

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills; able to communicate and work effectively with clients of all technical skill levels
  • Self–motivated problem solver with a proven track record of delivering results in technology sales and consulting
  • Working knowledge of computer networking, including Ethernet networks and TCP/IP networking principles
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, including commercial three-phase systems
  • Highly computer literate; able to perform command-line tasks on Linux systems
  • Strong project management skills
  • Adapts to changing schedules and customer requirements
  • Able to travel up to 25%

Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years in customer facing pre-sales support, designing enterprise solutions to address client needs
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move about to accomplish tasks, including:
    • climb ladders
    • lift/move boxes up to 25 lbs.
    • use hand tools and light power tools
